All Saints Church Risley was originally commenced in 1593 as a domestic chapel for the Willoughby family, of nearby Risley Hall. The Chapel was eventually finished and consecrated in 1632. The reason for the delay is unclear. The original simple rectangular layout underwent major renovations in 1841 with a north aisle and a vestry added. In 1897 a lectern and a pulpit were gifted to the church by Ernest Terah Hooley of Risley Hall.

Of particular merit is The Font, made of Derbyshire Alabaster and bearing the Willoughby Coat of Arms. Also the inscription stone over the front entrance featuring M.K.W. (for Michael and Katherine Willoughby) and the date of 1593.

All Saints Church Risley remains a functioning church, with Baptism's Weddings and Funerals throughout the year, a main Sunday service weekly at 16.00, toddler and conversation groups.
