The parish church of St. Rumon is in the village of Romansleigh which stands on a hill 4 miles south of South Molton. St Rumon was believed to have been an Irish missionary who travelled the West Country spreading Christianity during 6th century AD. The 14th century church was rebuilt in 1868 from designs by the architect Edward Ashworth. The present bell tower was rebuilt in 1887 on what remained of the original church. In the churchyard are the remains of a medieval cross and on the north side of the church is St. Rumon's well.
