This Wesleyan Methodist Church cemetery was in use from about 1824 to 1879, when the cemetery was closed and families were asked to move the remains to the Newmarket Cemetery. Many were not moved and after the school that was built on this site was closed, remains were found in 1989 when a retirement home was built in its place. About 77 individual skeletons were found, about 49% were juveniles and there were only 4 adults over 60 years of age.
