Sandvoe Cemetery

Sandvoe Cemetery, also known as Sandvoe Burial Ground, is a small rectangular shaped plot located about 200 metres east of Sandvoe and 800 metres west of Isbister Cemetery, North Roe, Northmavine, Shetland. It lies on an isthmus with the Loch of Flugarth on the south and Sand Voe on the north.
The stone walled cemetery currently contains about 130 burials but has been platted in N-S oriented rows for nearly 360 individual graves. The cemetery is in active use, with graves dating from 1940, when the cemetery was apparently created. According to Google, the hamlet of Sandvoe was formerly the location of the main parish church of Northmavine, known as "The Old Kirk."
