The Grade II-listed Chapel in the village of Swythamley belonged to the Brocklehurst family who lived at Swythamley Hall from the 19th Century.

Lady Brocklehurst commissioned the building in memory of her husband, Sir Philip Lancaster Brocklehurst, 1st Baronet, who died in 1904.

On the death of the 2nd Baronet Philip Lee Brocklehurst in 1975, his heir and great nephew sold the Hall and broke up the estate.

Now a private residence, the converted Chapel was last on the market in 2017, and is currently let on Airbnb.
