Add PhotosThis small cemetery is the resting place of Benjamin F. and Nancy (Netherland) Cloud and two of their sons. It is behind the house in the yard, between the house and the edge of the woods bordering Riverport Road.
There are four marked graves. No unmarked graves appear to be present. The markers are old but appear to have been installed well after the actual burials.
Benjamin and Nancy were thought to be interred at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Cemetery but obviously were not; Richard and William's burial location was not previously known.
From the family records of Elizabeth S. Owings: [Benjamin and Nancy] are buried in a small family cemetery in the rear of the house which they built in 1815. Elizabeth says "I lived in this house in my young days. Their Bible records, which I have, name their children."
This cemetery appears on a ~1956 topographic map of the area which also shows the original house. Apparently the house was taken down by 1958, when the current residence was constructed, according to city records. It is not clear what the state of the original house was by 1958 when the Cloud farm was sold.
