The Olden Family have always said that this cemetery was on the land when their ancestor, James Cooper bought the land, and that whoever is buried there is not their relatives. The original owner of the land was Thomas Caruthers (1-league Mexican land grant ~1831) and it was surveyed by Thomas Henry Borden. . The dogtrot log cabin of James Cooper was still there until it burned in the mid-1970s. (source: Henry Mayo)
