The cemetery is located on private land on the east side of Grose Road (County Road 159) five miles south of the intersection of US 380 and Grose Rd., the nominal center of the unincorporated Caprock community. The cemetery takes its name from its location on Soldier Hill. The book The Place Names of New Mexico, by Robert Julyan, states that some US soldiers were said to have been killed at Soldier Hill. The Old New Hope Church is said to have been located nearby. There are reported to be only 3 readable markers in the cemetery, all members of the Robinson family. About 9 unmarked graves have been reported.
