This cemetery was originally called the Monmouth Cemetery. It is notable for it's situation on a small hill and it's grove of tall fir trees. It has a beautiful view of the valley around it.
The cemetery is located about two miles south of Monmouth on old Highway 99W, now called Helmick Road. It is dessignated with a sign "Fir Crest Cemetery". It is located in T 9S, R 5W and S 1. It is bisected by Fir Crest road(paved). Smith Cemetery is located on the north side a paved lane runs between the two cemeteries (FC is on south side of paved road).
