Hart Cemetery was established in 1949 ro relocate graves from Saints rest Cemetery when Lake Daniel was built. Graves from Brushy and Big Sandy Cemeteries were moved to Hart Cemetery when they built Hubbard Lake.

R., T.G., Ida, J.M. and R.P. Hart donated land for the cemetery from the Charles and Sarah Hart Estate. The cemetery is dedicated to the memory of Joel David Hart. The Parks Camp Ex-Students Association provided the sign at the entrance to the Hart Cemetery.
