Jasper C. & wife Elizabeth Chambers moved here from Morgan Co, Kentucky, in 1872. They first lived in a one room log cabin 1/4 mile north of the cemetery. They gave the land for the cemetery February 16, 1878.
The first grave in the cemetery is that of James H. Watson, who was killed when horses ran away with a wagon. He was born October 16, 1870, died October 6, 1877.
