Benner Cemetery
Benner Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, USA
Directions:
Turn off of Benner Pike (PA 550) between Stocker Chevrolet and Shiloh Luthern Church onto Shiloh Road. Go 0.85 mile to a gate marking the beginning of land owned by the State Correctional Institute at Rockview (S.C.I.R.). This gate is closed and locked about 3:00 PM each day, so be sure to return by that time. Proceed beyond the gate for 3/4 mile. Make a left onto farm accress lane (dirt) and follow it for 0.35 mile to the cemetery. About half way from Shiloh Road to the cemetery bear right at a "Y" in the road way.
The cemetery is surrounded by a 3 foot high block wall. About 6 feet outside the wall is a white wooden fence with a gate adjacent to the steps into the cemetery.

History:
General Philip Benner was one of the early settlers of Centre County. He built two forges, a long grist-mill, and an iron furnace near his home at Rock. The family cemetery is on a hill above the location of his former home.
