Pine Grove Cemetery is the final resting place for approximately 1,700 individuals, including many of the earliest settlers of Matamoras and Westfall, hundreds of veterans dating back to the Civil War, former Matamoras mayors, an Apollo Space Program engineer, and even a girl named Cinderella.
Veterans Cemetery
Pine Grove is home to the only dedicated Veterans Cemetery in Northeastern Pennsylvania within a 3-hour radius of Pike County — whether maintained by the National Cemetery Administration or otherwise. This fully accessible 360-plot section honors the service and sacrifice of military veterans and their spouses. The entrance is marked by an American flag, POW flag, and six military branch flags. Landscaped paths and benches provide a dignified, peaceful setting with nearly all the benefits of a National Veterans Cemetery, closer to home and with far less bureaucracy.
Memorial Garden
Our memorial garden offers a serene, natural setting for the interment of cremated remains, featuring in-ground burial, scattering options, and columbarium niches beneath mature trees — a peaceful, permanent, and affordable alternative to traditional burial.
Expansion
Recent clearing of wooded acreage has added capacity for 8,000 additional plots, ensuring Pine Grove can serve the community for generations to come.
