T28N R43E Sec 35.

The present cemetery was established in 1894; the books show that burials were made as early as 1888. This apparent contradiction comes because there was a previous cemetery and most of the bodies in the former cemetery, which has been abandoned, were moved to the present cemetery. There are no known records available for the previous cemetery. The organization meeting of the Association was held on Jul 07, 1894 in Chattaroy. A resolution was passed to purchase two and one half acres in the area described above, from the Northern Pacific Railway Co., for use as the 'Chattaroy Cemetery'. The cemetery is divided into four sections; A, B, C and D. Each section is composed of lots, numbered from 1 upwards.
