The original cemetery was once an Indian burial ground that was donated to the Saltese Cemetery Association in 1892. In 1911, it was registered with Spokane County. The oldest marked grave is of Bertie Pugh dated 1881. Mary and William Cabbage both served as longtime Sexton until their passing in 2014.
