ENDOWMENT CARE/THIS IS AN ENDOWMENT CARE INTERMENT PROPERTY
On the right there is a boulder which is inscribed Gan Yarok. Hebrew for Green Garden, this is the entrance to the Jewish natural burial grounds that were consecrated on Forever Fernwood property in May of 2010. This access point is marked by metal banisters which heads toward the south on a smooth cement path. The trail strolls through natural forested hillsides where there are scattered green burials. Some burials are marked by a simply inscribed organic rock and some are anonymous and part of the earth.
The long wide path is the only wheelchair friendly area of the cemetery. It is a lovely stroll, although there is a slight uphill grade on the way back.
Also in this view are two very large grey niche holders in the shape of a traditional tombstone. Each memorial monument has 64 individual gold tinted niches in ready for inscribed medallions.
Tamalpais Valley and the east peak of Mt. Tamalpais are just beyond the tree line.
This peaceful overlook has two access points. One from the mountain above by foot and the other from the graveyard below.
In the distance is Mount Tamalpais aka The Sleeping Lady. Most graves are situated toward this beautiful view.
View toward the WNW.
