Oldtown Burial Ground was an earlier name of First Parish Burying Ground, Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, and was described as, "The burial ground across the street from the First Parish Meeting House...", in an article written by Isaac W. Little and published in the Newburyport Daily Herald, 08 April 1880, on page 1. The newspaper item is an excellent resource regarding the early history of the Oldtown Burial Ground, the name of which was called "Oldtown Cemetery" in another early publication. As the cemetery expanded, it became known as First Parish Burying Ground, being located across from the First Parish Meeting House, and now across from the First Parish Church of Newbury, Massachusetts.
