Bethel Cemetery (Abandoned) – Wayne Township, Minnehaha County, South Dakota Established in 1873. The cemetery was associated with the Bethel Methodist Church that closed in 1929. The Church was located northwest of the cemetery. Last known burials were around early 1900's. There are only a few remaining headstones marking graves of early pioneers. Sadly, many graves no longer have or never had headstones. By using a technique called dowsing, it has been determined the small 1.5-acre cemetery was near capacity.
