Company: E. He was discharged, March 8, 1864, at Strawberry Plains, Tennessee on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. Rank: Private. At death he resided at 15 Walter Street, Cleveland. His wife, Mary A. Dawson(1848-1900) is buried with him. John's name is on Panel #14 in the Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Public Square, Cleveland, OH.
