∼Melanie Renee (Hefley) Kouzbari, 48, of Plano, Texas, daughter of Burlin Hefley and Janice (King) Hefley, was born Dec 27, 1963, and departed this life August 17, 2012.

As a young girl she loved spending time at the lake water skiing and riding the ol' horse at Grandma and Grandpa Hefley's with her brother Steve and cousin Jeffrey Todd.

She trained and performed in many ballet dance recitals and she was an elite member of her Glendale High School 'Scotties' Drum Corp.

After Cosmetology school, she worked as a hairstylist for a few years. Later she moved to Tulsa where she met Mahmood Kouzbari and worked for Dillards Department Store. They married May 17, 1986 and later had her 'pride and joy' two children. She acquired a nursing degree from Tulsa University and was employed at St. John's Hospital. Later she was diagnosed with muscular sclerosis which forced her incapable to continue her nursing profession. She then moved to Plano, Texas to be near her son while he was in school. While there, she acquired a Masters degree in Business Administration from the online Colorado Technology Institute. Sadly her MS made it impractical for her to be engaged in her educated, licensed and skilled occupations.

That didn't stop her from making fun memories with her family and friends. Whether it was a card or board game or even a game of Dominoes, she could usually outsmart the bunch! Her sweet twinkling smile, striking beauty, great sense of style, warm charismatic spirit and independent drive will greatly be missed. We take comfort in knowing she is now without pain and in a better place.

Melanie is survived by her parents, Jan (King) and Ralph Benson of Tulsa OK and Burlin and Arlene Hefley of Rogersville MO; her two loving children, Ashton Munear Kouzbari of Dallas, TX and Somer Rachelle; her two brothers, Steve Hefley of Sacramento CA and Jacob Hefley of Rogersville, MO; two sisters, Hope and Hannah Hefley of Rogersville; five nephews, Akram Kouzbari, Rashad Kouzbari, Fares Kouzbari, Amir Kouzbari, Zak Kouzbari, and Sami Kouzbari of Plano TX; five nieces, Sara Kouzbari, Sahar Kouzbari, and Zaina Kouzbari of Plano TX, Jessica Hefley and Alex Hefley of San Jose, CA; her companion and best friend, Mario Vasquez; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services and burial were held August 19th at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, TX. An online memorial video/guestbook is presented at: www.dignitymemorial.com
