Van Alstyne Funeral Set for N.M. Davis
Van Alstyne, Texas, Oct. 23 (AP) - Funeral services will be held here Sunday for N.M. Davis, 99, Civil War Veteran and pioneer resident of Grayson County, who died in a Waco hospital Friday after an illness of four years.
A native of North Carolina, Davis joined the Confederate Army in 1861. He fought in the Battle of Gettysburg. For two years of the war, he was a Yankee prisoner. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for sixty-eight years.
