Benjamin Franklin "Frank" BEARD
Enlisted in the Screven Troop in 1861, and was transferred to Company F, 5th Georgia Cavalry Regiment on 20 Jan 1863. He was detailed as a teamster for Captain. J. B. Gowen by order of General Mercer. Frank was paroled at Hillsboro, North Carolina on 3 May 1865.
Frank BEARD, son of William Harris BEARD and Sarah Pernice WOODS, was born in 1838 and died 1910. Benjamin married Catherine C. HOWELL in July 1866, and was a farmer in Screven County, Georgia.
