Ewell is predeceased by his sisters Rena Laborde of New Orleans and Lammie Normand of Marksville.
He is survived by his sister, Doris Bordelon of Moreauville, one niece and two nephews.
Bordelon served as a Private First Class in the US Army from 1945 to 1947. After the service he made his home in New Orleans where he enjoyed many years in his Lakeview home until Hurricane Katrina brought him back to Central Louisiana where he remained until his death.
