Elkhorn: Mildred L. Bray: 97, of Bray Road Elkhorn, WI died Friday April 5, 2013 at Ridgestone Terrace Elkhorn, WI. She was born July 29, 1915 in Burket, IN the daughter of the late Rockwell James and Minnie Mae (Mills) Brigham. She was united in marriage to Dean C. Bray on August 29, 1942 in Whitewater, WI. Dean died May 9, 1996. Mildred graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Master's degree in Library Science. She was employed as the high school librarian for Elkhorn Area School District for over 22 years retiring in 1983. Mildred was an avid reader who enjoyed reading biographies. She also enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. She was a member of the Walworth County Retired Teachers Association. Mildred is survived by her 3 children: James (Carol) Bray of Mosinee, WI, Bonnie Heiden of Byron Center, MI and Robert (Amy) Bray of Elkhorn, WI. 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dean. 1 sister: Beulah Brigham, 2 brothers: Merle and Glen Brigham.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 PM (Noon) Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI with Chaplain Eugene Berres officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Tibbets, WI. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to Noon. Memorials may be made in Mildred's name to American Cancer Society.
