Billie Jane Pierson Zegeer, 76, of Clay, died November 29, 2005 at Charleston's CAMC General Hospital following complications from lung cancer. Zegeer was a landlady and Clay United Methodist Church member. She was a former member of the Clay County Library Board of Trustees and Clay Town Council. She traveled extensively with her late husband, Arthur W. Zegeer. While living in the Republic of South Africa 1977-80, she served as editor of a community newsletter. Zegeer attended West Virginia University. She is survived by her children: Michael D. (Marsha) Zegeer of Cincinnati, Richard B. (Marge Michau) Zegeer of Kanawha City and Jill Zegeer (Patrick) Dunn of Tuscaloosa, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. S. D. and J. A. Pierson of Clay. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston. Friends may also call one hour before the funeral service, which will be noon Friday at Clay United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Reed-Pierson Cemetery, Clay.
