Born in Bath, NY, great great grandson of Rev. Jonathan Edwards. Missionary / school superintendent / pastor to the Choctaws at Wheelock, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). Retired twice (once just after the outbreak of the Civil War) and again about 1895 in California, where he died.
