RAYMOND J. TOURIGNY SR., 86, of Appleton, Maine, owner of The Harness Shops, Washington, Maine, and Appleton, Maine, from 1982 to 1996, died Saturday at Camden Health Care Center, Camden, Maine.
He was the husband of Mavis (Rowell) Edwards-Tourigny and the late Pauline (Orr) Tourigny.
Born in Leominster, Mass., a son of the late Joseph and Marie ( Tourigny ) Tourigny, he had lived in Burrillville for 15 years.
Mr. Tourigny was a partner, vice president and plant manager of Crystal Thermo Plastics in Cumberland for six years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the National Guard for six years.
He was the former deputy chief of the Glendale Fire Department, a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Lions Clubs and served on the planning committee for the Burrillville School Department.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, two daughters, three brothers, three sisters, two stepsons, two stepdaughters, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Annette Barna and Samuel Tourigny.
