Edna Thoma

Vancouver, Wash.

Edna Lois Thoma, 86, of Vancouver, Wash., died of complications of a stroke April 6 at Waterford Retirement Inn there. The body was cremated, and no services are planned.

Mrs. Thoma was born in Coon Rapids and had lived in Des Moines most of her life before moving to Vancouver 2½ months ago. She was a homemaker and a volunteer with United Way, Big Brothers and Sisters, American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of PEO and Daughters of the Nile. She was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and traveling.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Nyemaster-Schelb of Yacolt, Wash.; a son, Thomas Nyemaster of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Esther Hocket of Carlsbad, N.M.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Nyemaster and Harlan J. Thoma.

Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground, Wash., is handling arrangements.
