William Pesonen

William Pesonen, 88, of 1025 Rock Crusher Road, passed away unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Greenland [Michigan], son of the late Charles and Helmi (Muhonen) Pesonen. When he was about six years old, his family moved from Greenland to Ironwood, where he grew up and graduated from the L.L. Wright High School in 1932. After high school he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. and stayed with them until December of 1942. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as an airplane power plant mechanic until being honorably discharged in February or 1946. Following his discharge, he moved to California and went to work for American Airlines as a mechanic until his retirement, when he moved to Crystal Falls. His favorite hobby was photography. He was preceded in death by a brother Sulo.
He is survived by a brother Bruno (Hildur) of Crystal Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
The family was served by the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls.

Private family services were held and burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
