COUNTY PIONEER DIES AT AGE 68
Mrs. John Gilmore Homesteaded at Montrose With Husband in 1882--Rites Monday.
Mrs. John Gilmore, 1118 North Dakato Ave, a pioneer in this county, died last night in McKennan Hospital at the age of 68. She came to this city from Ireland with her husband in 1881 and is the following year they filed on a homestead near Montrose. The home stead still is in possession of the family. They have resided to Sioux Falls the past six years. they were in Kansas City at one time for a period of 18 Years.
Funeral services will be held in Montrose at 10 o;clock Monday morning. The body is at the Barnett Billion Funeral home.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Gilmore is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. F. O'Rourke, Kansas City, who is here at the present time; a brother, Edward McKinney, also of Kansas City, and a sister. Mrs. Maggie O'Toole , in Ireland.
