SORBEN -- Donald W., died Sunday, Feb. 1 from heart failure while he was a patience at Sharp Cabrillo Hospital. Don was a strong man and proud of his Norwegian ancestry, whose family tree has been traced back to 16th century Norway. He died 1 month before his 90th birthday. Before retiring in 1978, Don was employed at the Naval Electronics laboratory on Pt. Loma as a "Model Maker" Machinist. Don worked on many important projects including the Bathyscaph Triest Submersible Explorer. Don was a member of Lodge #726 IAofM and served as recording secretary for 22 years. He often corresponded with Presidents, Senators, and Congress supporting them for good ideas and admonishing them when he felt they were wrong. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years Nellie, and his 3 sons, Bob and Rick of San Diego, and Harold Sweet of Sacramento. 1 granddaughter, 3 great-granddaughters, 1 great-great grandson. He was loved very much and will be deeply missed. Graveside service at El Camino Mortuary Feb. 6, at
