Born at Edray, Pocahontas County, Virginia. Now W. Va.


Highland Recorder March 19, 1937

Mrs. Caroline Hoover of the Thorn died this morning (Wednesday) at 6 a.m. She was one of the outstanding citizens of the community. She was quiet and thoughtful of others and was a devout member of the Methodist church. Surviving are four sons: William and Pat at home and Jacob and Joseph of Pocahontas county. Four daughters: Mrs. Leah Gay of Pocahontas county, Mrs. Lester Moyers of the Thorn, Mrs. Max Croft of Augusta county and Miss Florence, at home. Several grandchildren also survive. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

The funeral of Mrs. Caroline Hoover was held from Totten Church on the Thorn, Friday at 11 o'clock by Rev. C. W. Paskel. She is survived by one brother and one sister not mentioned last week, Pat Gay and Mrs. E. R. Sharp, both of Marlinton, W. Va. She was united in marriage to Noah Hoover, Feb 10, 1881, who preceded her to the grave nine years ago. Mrs. Hoover would have been 76 on April 13. Burial was in the Hoover Cemetery A number of people from a distance attended the funeral.
