Obituary from the Greenfield, Ma. Gazette and Courier August 31, 1907

Death of Martha Wright
Martha Wright, 88, the last of a family of ten children of Reuben and Phyla Champlin Wright, died on Monday at the home of Mrs. Fisher at Northfield Farms, where she had been boarding for the past few years. She was the last surviving member of her father's family, tracing her ancestry back to the earliest settlers of the town. The farm upon which she was born and spent her life was granted to the Wright family by King George 3rd and never has been deeded, indicating that thrift, energy, good management and all that characterizes good existed in her ancestry. Her forbearers fought and some lost their lives during the frontier fights with the Indians. Miss Wright was the home keeper for her father and brother Henry during a long term of years, conscientious in the discharge of her duties, living a life fraught with good deeds and earnest endeavor. She was blind for several years and this affliction with other infirmities of age she has borne cheerfully. She was united with the Congregational Church many years ago. Her funeral was held from the home of Mrs. Fisher on Wednesday, being attended by Rev. D. M. Wilson, burial being in the family lot in the village cemetery.
