She was the second wife of Thomas Buford Johns (1854-unknown). They married 24 Dec 1889 in Wilson County, TN.

(His first wife was Jennie Pierce (See FAG# 188055605).

Thomas was the son of Joseph Barksdale Johns Sr. and Margaret J. Wade.

Around 1898/1899 Thomas again abandoned his family - this time, there were five children and expecting the sixth. As seen on 1900 census, Evie would depict herself as "widow."
