Guadalupe served in the the Texas 17th Mounted Calvary in the Civil War. He died in the early 1900's and was buried In the Mansola Cemetery near the Spanish Bluff. In the 1940's, the cemetery was lost due to logging, and the site is now on private property. For this reason, his Confederate marker was erected in the Lazarine Cemetery so it could be next to his sons Frank and Marciano Arriola and his daughter Benerva Barber. This was done on 8/25/2014.
