She was the daughter of the late Rudy Linville and Matilda Waycaster Rash. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jackson, in 1982.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Hampton Christian Church and was a former LPN. She was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #17 and a member of the American Legion, Watauga Post #49.

She was a U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II in the Medical Corps.

Funeral services for Myrtle Jackson, 89, were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 at Hall Cemetery, Hampton.
