OBITUARY
DANIEL MACDONALD, OF BINGHAMTON, N.Y., Formerly of Toronto
BINGHAMTON, N Y. -- Daniel Macdonald, 74, formerly of 208 Fern Avenue, Toronto. Ont., and 45 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N. Y., died May 30, 1966. He had been a patient at the White House Nursing Home in Barre, VT., for two and a half years.
He was born May 21, 1892 in Marsboro, Quebec, son of Norman and Christie MacLean Macdonald.
He was an electrical engineer. Mr. Macdonald graduated from McGill University, and worked for the Hartford Steam Boiler and Electric Company in Boston, Massachusetts. North and South Carolina and Tennessee, Atlanta, Ga., and Toronto, Ont., until his retirement in 1958.
Mr. Macdonald never married.
He leaves a brother, Walter S. Macdonald, Perry, N. Y., three sisters, Jean, Mrs. Reginald Eley, Binghamton, N. Y.; Miss Effie Macdonald, Lennoxville and Alice, Mrs. Tolbert Boyd, Barre, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and several Naturalist clubs in Toronto and Binghamton, N. Y.
Funeral services were held at the Hooker Funeral Home, Barre. Vt., with Rev. T. Murdock Hale, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Committal services were in Marsboro, Que., at the Echo Vale Cemetery with the Rev. R. D. Bhe, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Scotstown, and Lake Megantic officiating.
Bearers were James Wood, Charles Morrison, Neil Stewart, Findlay Macdonald, Samuel Morrison and Donald Morrison,
Those attending the committal services from out of town were Walter S. MacDonald, Perry, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs. Tolbert Boyd and Harrison L. McLeod, Barre, Vt., Effie MacDonald, Lennoxville, Henry Ward, Sherbrooke, Ina Alan, Lennoxville and several from Scotstown Milan and Megantic.
