HEYL, Dorothy H. of Waite Avenue

Age 79, daughter of the late Dr.and Mrs. F. W. Heyl, died October 19, 1989 after a courageous battle with a lingering illness. Ms. Heyl was born in Laramie, WY, received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, and spent many of her years in Orlando, FL. She always regarded Kalamazoo as her home and attended grade school in Kalamazoo and completed her first 2 years of college at Kalamazoo College. She was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and benefactress of Kalamazoo College and Bronson Methodist Hospital and traveled widely through the United States, South American, Europe, and the Far East. Ms. Heyl is survived by her sister, Ms. Helen H. Mason of Winter Park, FL; and her niece and nephews and their families (Barbara L. Winget of Redmond, WA, Kenneth H. Mason of Winter Park, FL, Glenn M. Mason of Silver Spring, MD, and Douglas C. Mason of Tustin CA); and her cousins (Phil Heyl and Frederick (Ed) Heyl of Mesa, AZ). Memorial services will be held in St. Luke's EpiscopalChurch Wednesday, October 25, 1989 at 2 P.M., Rev. Father Stephan Klingelhofer officiating. Ms. Heyl was most appreciative of flowers and encouragement received during her illness and requested no flowers be sent after her death. Instead, donations can be made to the new Science Building at Kalamazoo College and to St. Luke's Episcopal Church and to YWCA, Domestic Assault Program.
