Gerald Lee Uhl was born on January 20, 1926, in St Joseph, Missouri to Adolph William and Mamie Burgess Uhl. Early life was spent in Chicago, Illinois and then in Fargo North Dakota. He entered the Army during WWII, serving in the campaign in Europe from 30 March 1944 to 20 April, 1946. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic or meritorious achievement or service.
Gerald unfortunately left this earth at too young of an age, suffering from inoperable brain cancer. He died on December 8, 1954, in Fargo, North Dakota and is survived by both his parents, his brother Adolph William Jr and sister-in-law Helen Lee, and three nephews, David, Greg and Larry Uhl.
