Charles Elmer Williams, a lifelong resident of Greensburg died at 9:10 AM on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA.

Charles, son of Bernard and Florence Hughes Williams, was born July 5, 1937. He graduated from Greensburg High School and enjoyed working in sales before and after he served in the Air Force. He worked as a Security Guard at Dixon Correctional Institute until his retirement. Charles loved raising his cattle and tending his land near the old home place. He married Opal McElveen Williams on July 5, 1957 and they were married until her death on March 7, 2011. Charles and Opal had 2 children. Jacqueline Nell Williams was born April 10, 1959 and died of a heart attack on December 14, 2011 and Charles Andrew Williams was born October 25, 1961 and died of brain cancer on May 24, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, son, great grandson-Cameron Sessum, parents, brothers (Harvey Bernard Williams, and Durward Williams), sister Doris Watson; his father in law, Houston McElveen, mother in law, Iona Mae Hunt McElveen Frazier, sisters in law, Dot Schilling and Faye Morgan, brothers in law, Gene Watson, Ronnie Baker and Ronald Schilling.

Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 AM until religious services at 2 PM, Thursdsay, April 23, 2015. Services conducted by Re. Leroy McElveen. Interment Grangeville Cemetery, Grangeville, LA.
