Maria Julieta (Moniz) Carreiro, age 79 of Fall River. Widow of Manuel Carreiro and daughter of the late Joao Jacinto Moniz and Maria Dos Anjos (Duarte) Moniz. Entered into eternal rest October 15, 2009 Born in Fenais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was in Somerset for 23 years then Fall River. She was a member of St. Michael Church. She was a retired sewing machine operator at Essex Mfg.
She is survived by 3 children: Leonor “Lee” Silva & Husband Don of Portsmouth, RI, Very Rev. Walter A. Carreiro of Cambridge, Richard M. Carreiro and wife Debbie of Somerset. 4 siblings: Norberto, Fernando and Joseph Moniz all of Fall River, 5 grandchildren: Andrea and Husband Jim Culipher, Joshua and wife Danielle Silva, Jason Silva and Alexandrea and Jacob Carreiro; 3 great grandchildren: Logan, Juliet, and Isabelle; several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late John Moniz.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, 189 Essex St., Fall River, MA Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St., Fall River, MA.
