Born In Salt Lake City on September 16, 1930 to Bessie A. and William C. Winder. She attended Salt Lake City public schools, graduated from East High School, and attended the U. of U.
Married to Calvin D. Nelson in 1949; later divorced. Married Dominick R. Motta in 1993.
Her life was devoted to family and friends. She loved to entertain in her treasured home. She was always the gracious hostess. She was known and loved for her warmth and generosity. She was as beautiful on the inside as the outside. No one laughed harder at the funny things she did, than herself. Her family affectionately called her "Buffy."
She left this message for her family, "I want you all to know what a wonderful life I have had. You three children are the brilliant stars that have outshone every other. And my grandchildren are my treasures."
She is survived by her husband, Dom; children, William, Richard (Toni), and Julie (Danny) Nelson; step-children, Julie (Noall) Knighton, Laurie (Joseph) Eccleston, and Amy (Ted) Booth; grandchildren, Melissa, Danielle, Aaron, Moey, Kara, Eric, Alex, and Connor; and sisters and brother, Joyce Seare, twin sister, Janny Sandwick, and Jack (Laura) Winder. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William C. III and Robert A. Winder.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane (5150 South). Friends may call prior to the services at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
