Stokes graduated from Wofford College with a B.A. degree and Union College with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and was later made an honorary Phi Beta Kappa. He was associated with the General Electric Company for all of his career. During that time he master minded the development of the man-made diamond for industrial use. His career ended in Manhattan as a General Electric consultant for new business.
Friends may visit Saturday, March 8th from 2-4 PM at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood. Services will be private. Interment in Pickens, SC.
