Sarah Jane Laymon was the daughter of Alexander Laymon and Sarah "Sally" Brewer.
She married to Jesse Hurst on 31 Oct 1852 in Spencer County, Indiana. Before his death ten years later, they had two daughters: Sarah Pauline (b. 1853) and Mary Letitia (b. 1862).
On 28 Jan 1864, she married to Albert Levi Bayles, in Spencer County, Indiana. They had two children: Josephine (b. 1867) and Stephen Anderson (b. 1869). Presumably, they divorced before 1873, when Albert married again.
In the last record we could locate for her, she had applied for widow's benefits from her first marriage, to Jesse Hurst. That Civil War pension index record was dated 24 Apr 1877. Since she does not appear in the 1880 census, it is presumed she died circa 1879.
