She was born to Roy and Elva M. (Freeman) Tietz. She married Norman F. Burghardt on July 22, 1950. He preceded her in death February 3, 1992.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Diana (Ted) Walbolt, Ft. Wayne, IN, Bonnie (Bill) Smallman, Swanton; sons, Norman (Susie), Perrysburg, David Burghardt, Oklahoma and Randy Burghardt, Lyons; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were 3 brothers and a sister.
Irene worked for the Pilliod Cabinet Company in Swanton and was a planter for Brick's Greenhouse, however, the majority of her life she was a homemaker.
