JoAnn (JoJo) Q. Gonzales, age 75 years, passed from this life in Rio Rancho, NM on Monday, December 8, 2014.
Born January 14, 1939, in Santa Fe, NM, to Jacobo and Pauline Quintana. She graduated from Loretto Academy, Santa Fe, NM in 1957 receiving a scholarship to Webster College, Webster Groves, Missouri, where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education in 1961. She received her Master's in Education while residing in Memphis, TN. On August 5, 1961, JoAnn married the love of her life Arthur H. Gonzales. She was a resident of Memphis for 53 years and the past year has been a resident of Rio Rancho. After teaching elementary education for 30 years, she worked 10 more years for the Secretaty/General Chairman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers System Council #10.
She was preceded in death by her father Jacobo Quintana, mother Pauline Quintana, and husband Arthur H. Gonzales. She is survived by her son Robert A. Gonzales of Rio Rancho, NM, granddaaughter Bailey Gonzales of Memphis, TN, great granddaughter Riley Nicole Cunningham of Memphis, TN, brother Robert Quintana of Santa Fe, brother Luis Quintana and wife Irene of Albuquerque, brother Larry Quintana and wife Elizabeth of Santa Fe, brother Richard Quintana of Rio Rancho, sister Margo Camponovo and husband John of Colorado, brother-in-law Richard Gonzales of Albuquerque, sister-in-law Patsy Esquibel and husband Robert of Pena Blanca, aunt Helen Quintana of Santa Fe with whom she had a special bond, aunt Annie Santistevan of Taos.
A Rosary will be held on Monday December 15, 2014 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.
