Alphonse J. Plante, 68, Oshkosh, died July 6, 1991, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1922, in Cooks, Mich., a son of Azavius and Merilda Simpson Plante. He married Erna B. Wendtland in Iron River, Mich., in 1973. She preceded him in death June 7, 1979.
Alphonse served in the Navy during World War II and was employed at Rockwell International until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Local No. 291 United Auto Workers, and American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include four sons, Gary Plante of St. Paul, Minn., Robert (JoAnne) Plante of Neenah, Alan (Sue) Plante of Mountain View, Calif., and Daniel Plante of Oshkosh; one stepson, Royal (Nancy) Peterson of Kaukauna; one stepdaughter, Carolyn (Richard) Holz of Omro; two brothers, Joseph Plante of Florida and Frank Plante of Ruby, Ariz.; five sisters, Evelyn Dahms of Plover, Myrtle (Oscar) Manske of Ripon, Jeanette (William) Clifton of Cooks, Mich., Elizabeth (Jim) Louis of Plover and Marion (Earl) Cota of Gorden, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Plante, and one daughter, Janice Kloehn.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening, July 8, 1991, in Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Hanusa officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services Monday. A memorial has been established..
