Richard was born on March 23, 1936 in Cerro Gordo, the son of Rolly Roscoe and Maude Olive (Scott) Munson. He married Mary Louise Patten on April 2, 1955 in Cerro Gordo.
Richard is survived by his wife; daughters, Gloria Diane (Rob) Litwiller and Joyce Kay (Jim) Quick; eight grandchildren, Stacey Trouth (Jared), Hiliary Holdinghausen (Nick), Atlee Rogahn (Stephanie), Jessee Quick, Landon Beurrier; two great-grandchildren and sister, Helen (John) Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Lee Munson; daughters, Judy Ann Munson and Brenda Arlene Lovelace; sister, Evalyn and a brother, Lloyd.
Richard worked as a mechanic at Kraft Foods and was the owner/operator of Richard's Lawn and Garden Service.
Richard served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Cisco American Legion Post 1118, the National Rifleman's Association, and was also a salesman for Cargill Seeds.
