OCIE SCHLAPIA DIES - CLEARFIELD
Ocie Schlapia, 94, of Clearfield, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 1989, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Clearfield.
She was born Feb. 22, 1895 in Redding, the daughter of Charles and Rachel (Clark) Miller. On Dec. 5, 1913 she was married to Floyd Schlapia. He preceded her in death in March 1960.
She was a homemaker and lived in Redding, Benton, and Creston before moving to Clearfield 50 years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Legion Auxiliary in Clearfield.
Mrs. Schlapia is survived by a son, Dale Schlapia of Mount Ayr; four daughters, Laveta Strange of Diagonal, Thelma Schlapia of Boulder, Colo., Kay Dotson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Faye Mather of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the First [Christian] Church in Clearfield with the Rev. Shirley Lockard officiating. Burial was at the Clearfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church.
