Rev. Ronald Sharpe, 62, of Hickox, GA died Thursday morning (Jan. 25, 2007) at Bay View Nursing Home, Nahunta, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Pierce Co. GA and his parents were W.E. and Letha Smith Sharpe.

He is preceded in death by 7 sisters and brothers, Betty Sellers, Carolyn Martin, William, Buddy, Larry, Donald and Eddie Sharpe.

He was a Pentecostal minister and served as pastor to Raybon Church of God of Prophecy for 29 ½ yrs and retired after 24 years of service from the Brantley County School System.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Jean Wainright Sharpe; a daughter and her husband, Rhonda and George Dixon; 2 sons, Ronnie A. and Ricky Sharpe all of Hickox, GA; 6 Grandchildren, Valerie Smith of Atkinson, GA; Allen Smith of Hickox, GA; Eric, Stephanie and Hope Dixon of Hickox,GA; and Serena Marascow of Atkinson, GA; 3 Great Grandchildren, Zack and Gage Smith and Andre of Atkinson, GA; 2 Sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Benny Cornelius of Folkston, GA and Linda and Abe Flowers of Blackshear, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Darlene Sharpe of Patterson, GA; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Raybon Church of God of Prophecy.

Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon (Jan. 28, 2007) at 3:00 p.m. from the Church with Bishop W.C. Beasley, Bishop Raymond Willis, Rev. Charles Florey and Bishop Billy Adams officiating.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Hickox, GA.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Gibson, Odie Crews, Logan Rowell, Josh Rowell, Kerry Mathie and Mark Mathie.
